Congratulations to Mr. Ross Perot for his induction into the Ring of Entrepreneurs 2012!
The "Perot-Preneur" Award
Ross Perot entered the U.S. Naval Academy in 1949, where he helped establish its honor system. He graduated in 1953 as president of his class and battalion commander. He served the next four years as a Naval officer before leaving the military in 1957. In 1984, Perot bought a very early copy of the Magna Carta, one of only a few to leave the United Kingdom. In 2007, it was sold by the Perot Foundation for $21.3 million, in order to provide "medical research, for improving public education, and for assisting wounded soldiers and their families.”
One may find many other stories recognizing Ross Perot’s selfless service, commitment to social responsibility, and continuous support of veterans. As a sign of respect and appreciation for a fellow veteran and his impact on the community, HCC has created this elite award, named after Ross Perot himself.
The "Perot-Preneur" Award is an accolade for top HCC candidates who prove themselves to be successful veteran entrepreneurs, and exhibit outstanding commitment to social responsibility by continuously making a positive impact in society through their community service efforts.
