Operation Job Placement (OJP)
Although it's mission is to create veteran entrepreneurs, HCC comes across many veterans who are simply looking for a job. Job hunting can be a struggle for any transitioning veteran, who may spend weeks, or even months trying to get employed. HCC understands the frustration of exhausting so much time and effort, sending application after application through various portals, then having to wait for a reply, and hardly receiving any, if any at all.
Operation Job Placement's main purpose is to allow veterans who are seeking employment to have personal contact with someone who will help them find the best possible fit. OJP matches veterans with one of HCC's volunteer mentors, consisting of business professionals and executives. Veterans can work with their mentor to discuss the type of job they desire, and as the mentor gains a firm understanding of their goals, they can help the veteran polish their resumes, coach them, and guide them step by step through the process of finding a job.
It is a known fact that 85% of people get their jobs through networking (i.e. "knowing somebody"). Through HCC's network of veteran-friendly employers, as well as the connections of each mentor, OJP ensures that veterans are given the knowledge, experience, and resources necessary to find the best job possible based on their needs.
OJP recruits nationally and is not restricted to any specific geographic area when it comes to job placement and mentor matching. Veterans and their mentors could be meeting in person, or they may just be connecting virtually from different states. Whatever the case, veterans will find that there is an abundance of career opportunities throughout the country, and HCC will remain committed to seeking out any and all available options, wherever they may be. The more open a veteran is, the greater their possibilities.
If you are a veteran who needs assistance in finding a job, please register with OJP, and you will receive access to the database.
Employers who have positions available are interested in recruiting veterans can register their company or organization here.
