HCC's Veteran Programs
Honor Courage Commitment's programs focus on entrepreneurship, education, social responsibility, community services, health and fitness, and job placement. HCC's partnerships with various companies, organizations, and entrepreneurs allow it to provide its veterans with expert training and proper guidance as they work towards their goals. HCC recruits nationally, and while operations will take place from its office in Dallas, TX, veterans can ultimately find themselves starting businesses or working jobs anywhere in the country.
In 2011, HCC created Operation Enduring Education (OEE), which is a business incubator program designed for veterans seeking full degrees from accredited colleges. While in the program, the veteran students will attend school, volunteer to community services, and receive training from HCC’s staff and network of industry experts. This program is partnered with local universities, schools, businesses, and other nonprofit organizations, all of which share HCC's passion of training aspiring veteran entrepreneurs.
The Veteran Entrepreneurship Certification Series (VECS) is an intensive 10-week program where veteran students will receive training in focus areas of entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and leadership. In addition, they will be held to high standards of fitness, presentation, accountability, and integrity. During the program, the veterans will build business plans which they will present in HCC’s Business Plan Competition. Website grants and business entity formation grants are also available for competitive veteran entrepreneurs.
Through HCC's screening process, it's natural that HCC comes across many veterans who are simply looking for employment opportunities. With Operation Job Placement (OJP), HCC helps those veterans in their job hunting process, using the resources made available through the organization and its partners.
In 2013, HCC launched the Veteran Incubator Program (VIP), Texas's first veteran business incubator. With its new 5,500 sq. ft. office space, HCC is able to provide veterans with affordable working space, networking and training to support the development of their startup businesses.
HCC continues to expand its network by seeking out more individuals or organizations in various fields of work who are willing act as mentors or provide employment for HCC's veterans. HCC will ensure that each veteran in its programs is given the proper training and guidance to help them achieve their educational, career, or business-related goals.
To apply for a program, become a volunteer or employer, or if you are a veteran who needs help in any aspect, please see the applications page.
